FRIENDSHIP FEATHERS
Colin Heart Eagle-Eye Hornett and Shane Seagull of the Coast Cassilly,
Our friendship journey began deepening in alignment for causes of high, and shared values therein. With pensive, contemplative kneel and visits to the Hyperslow desert and wellsprings of Yosemite Valley, as well as giggly creative nights on Los Angeles’ westside, we grew upwards in friendship, rooted downwards deep with spirit. Donning Yoggx, with a puff of a joint and a sip of some COORS originals, sake, or vino, we serendipitously realized the perfect casting for a character in the television show One Hot Sun was not found beyond but was right in our midst. With planetary creative projects between our factions, appreciation for Moon, Mars, Earth, and all things celestial, the greater story of mankind and loving stories of our own took center stage. With alien beams and prayers to the Yosemite sky, the cauldron cooked hot the stew of friendship so potently that we acquired even more fellow hearts but with a view of Half Dome and the greatest valley ever carved.
These feathers are from the Indian Hills Art Gallery of Petoskey, Michigan—a one-of-a-kind Native American store celebrating tribes of the Great Lakes, like the Odawa tribe that used to live with nature in the area before the Europeans moved in. At the Indian Hills Art Gallery, they sell native art, jewelry and unique native pieces, and what caught my eye were these ‘Friendship Feathers’. While we honor the customs and unique aspects of the ways of Native Americans, I appreciated that they sell their art for to share with us, so that we may appreciate things like they do, especially nature and its other species, like the ones painted upon these feathers.
Colin Eagle soars across the sky, in search for his next creative pursuit, and dive he will once he has found it, and he will capture it and make it so everyone else can share in what he has found; to revel in it, and enjoy it together. Thereafter, the hunt once again begins, and so the cycle goes. With head held high, and imagination unrestricted, he sees the world from high above and down below.
Shane Seagull sun-gazes and hovers amidst the wind of the coast where she was raised, enchanted by the freedom and optimism of the Ocean and its horizon. Off the coast away from the city lights, she looks up amidst the stars and dreams while dancing with the winds in the company of her friends, and returns to the city to show and share what inspirations and new perspectives she has found.
Friendship feathers, for friendship indeed. Love you guys. May we protect Earth and all of her colorful inhabitants, and live consciously in our individual ways so to be humble and grateful stewards. dx
Love,
Bowdy Brown
